2、dunlessotherwiseprovidedinseparatedescriptionsofarticles,orintheCodeofFederalRegulations(CFR),Title49fortheshipmentofhazardousmaterials,whenthefollowingrequirementsandspecificationsarecompliedwith,ratingsorclassesapplyingonarticles'inboxes'willapplyonthesamearticlesinsolidorcorrugatedfi
3、breboardboxesdescribedinthisrule,allhereinafterreferredtoasfibreboxes,orasfibreboardboxes.Useof'OtherThanItem222'Boxes:Wheretheseparatedescriptionsofarticlesprovidefortheuseoffibreboardboxeswhicharedifferentfromthoseprovidedforinthisrule,suchprovisionswillalsoapplytothosearticlesinsuchb
4、oxeswhencommoditytariffsorexceptionstotheClassificationprovidethatsucharticlesmaybeshipped'inboxes'withoutfurtherqualificationsastotheconstructionoftheboxes.FibreboardboxesneednotcomplywiththisItemnoristhecircularboxmanufacturer'scertificaterequiredtobeshownonsuchboxes(Item222-1)when:(a
5、)thearticle'sdescriptiveitemdoesnotreferenceanymethod,formorspecificpackagingrequirement,or(b)theterm'loose'or'inpackages'(Item680,Sec.5)isauthorized,or(c)separatenumberedpackagesarecompliedwithandutilized,inwhichcasearectangularPackageCertificateisrequired.Otherwise,boxesnotcomplyingwi
6、ththisItemwillbesubjecttothepenaltiesdefinedwithinItem687.Sec.2.DescriptionofFibreboard:(a)CORRUGATEDFIBREBOARD.Boxesmustbemadeofsinglewall,doublewallortriplewallcorrugatedfibreboardhavingproperbendingqualities,thefacingsbeingfirmlygluedtothecorrugatedmediumatallpointsofcontactandtheout
7、erfacinghavingwaterresistance.(b)SOLIDFIBREBOARD.Boxesmaybemadeof3ormoreplies(SeeNOTE)ofsolidfibreboardhavingproperbendingqualities,allpliesbeingfirmlygluedtogetherandouterplybeingwaterresistant.NOTE--Boxesmaybemadeoftwo-plysolidfibreboardwhenmaximumweightofboxandcontentsdoesno
