2、ereexaminedupto72hoursofbirth,withspecialemphasisonthesignsandsymptomsofsuspectedsepsis.Neonateswithnomaternalorneonatalriskfactorwereincludedinthestudy,bloodexaminationandappropriateculturesweretaken.Antibioticsascephateximeandamikacinwerestartedonempiricalbasesuntilfinalculturesrepo
3、rtwasreceived.Incasesofnegativecultures,antibioticswerestopped.Otherwiseitcontinuedaccordingtocultureandsensitivityfor10to14days.Results:Amongthese257cases,113neonatesfullfilledourcriteria.Staphaureusbeingthecommonestorganisminourstudy(59.29%)followedbyKlebsiellapneumoniae(19.47%)andE
