4、age,aswellasincosmologicalnotionslikeyin-yangandthefivephases.Startinginthe1950s,thesepreceptswerestandardizedinthePeople'sRepublicofChina,includingattemptstointegratethemwithmodernnotionsofanatomyandpathology.Nonetheless,thebulkoftheseprecepts,includingthemodelofthebody,orconceptofdisease,is
5、notsupportedbyscienceorevidence-basedmedicine.TCM'sviewofthebodyplaceslittleemphasisonanatomicalstructures,butismainlyconcernedwiththeidentificationoffunctionalentities(whichregulatedigestion,breathing,agingetc.).Whilehealthisperceivedasharmoniousinteractionoftheseentitiesandtheoutsideworld,d
