3、ultures,andithaslongbeenmadeanimportantobjectofstudyinlinguistics.ThereallyseriousstudyofpolitenessintheWesternlinguisticcirclescanbetracedbacktotheGermanRomanticMovementintheearly1920s.Inrecentyears,alongwiththerapidmovementtowardspragmatics,politen
4、esshasbecomethecentraltheme.Asacommonsocialphenomenon,politenessisnotonlyauniversallyhighly&#118aluedvirtue,butalsoawidelyemployedstrategytorealizetactfulandeffectivecommunication.Despiteitsuniversalityofpoliteness,thewaystorealizepoliteness,andthest
