3、dthe"Victoriannovelist"createdgreatbookswithcontinuingappeal.1.1CharlesDickensandhisworksInthelongperiodofdominationofQueenVictoria,CharlesDickenswasthemostpopularwriter.BeingthegreatestrepresentativeoftheEnglishcriticalrealism,hegaveusamostvividpictureofeverydayli
4、fe,oftheordinarypeopleofhistimes.Hecreatedalargenumberoflifecharacters,wellknown,fulloflifeandunforgettable.Hehadsufferedsobitterlyhimselfasachildandhadseensomuchevilness.Sohedecidedtofightwithevilness.Hebelievedthatahard-workingandhonestmancouldachievehislittleper
5、sonalbusinessundercapitalism.Thesuccessofonegreatnovelistwouldrelyonthecarrier:hisworks,tosupporthimself.CharlesDickenswrotemanyanovelsuchasThePickwickPapers,OliverTwist,DombeyandSon,HardTimesandATaleofTwoCities.CharlesDickensusedhispentomouldatypicalfigureofallstr
