2、ersusuallyplaytaperecorders,studentsfinishtheexerciseswhichgivenbyteachers,andthenteacherscheckstudents’answerswhileexplainingsomenewwordsoccasionally.Becauseofthetraditionalteachingapproachhascontrolledthelisteningclassforalongtime,listeningisnotbeingtaughtbuttestedinmiddle

3、schools.Underthiscircumstance,studentseasilygetboredandlackoflearninginterest.FromtheaboveanalysisofthepresentEnglishlisteningteachingsituationinmiddleschools,weneedtosearchforamoreeffectivewaytoimprovestudents’Englishlisteningabilityandknowledge,andtask-basedapproachisoneof

4、thebestchoices.PeopleconsiderTBAamuchmoreeffectivelanguagelearningapproach,becauseitsupportsthegoalofusingandlearningacertainlanguage.Inotherwords,learninglanguageisnotonlyforthelanguageformitself,butalso,andmostimportantly,forthemeaningoruseofthelanguage.Thisapproachhasmany

5、advantages:Firstly,studentsperformtasksgivenbyteacherswhichcannotonlyarousestudents’interestandmotivationbutalsocreatearelaxedandpleasantatmosphere.Secondly,studentsexchangetheirideaswitheachotherandlearnfromeachotherduringtheprocess.Thisnotonlyhelpstoimprovestudents’English

6、learning,developtheirmentalintelligence,butalsogreatlyincreasestheirlearninginterestandconfidence.  II.ExistingProblemsinCurrentListeningTeaching 2.1DeficientWorkbeforeListening   Someteachersbelievethattheycanteachlisteningcoursewithoutanypreparationssolongastheyhavethetape

7、sandreferencebooks.SoIwouldliketoemphasizetheimportanceofpreparationsforaclass,itisthebasicneedofaneffectivelisteningteaching. Firstly,theteacherdoesnottrainstudentstomakepredictionsanddonotchoosesuitablelisteningmaterials.Ifthestudentscanlearntomakepredicationsaboutwhatthey
