1、學位論文英語教學中的文化因素內(nèi)容提要由于社會文化知識的缺乏即使語言準確無誤也會產(chǎn)生誤會——這是中國學生進行跨文化交際時常見的問題本文試圖說明為什么在英語教學中必須重視文化因素以及如何把文化教學融入語言教學之中本文以闡釋文化與語言的密不可分的關系以及外語教學的目的為理論依據(jù)提出了在英語教學過程中如何傳授文化知識和培養(yǎng)學生文化能力的具體目標內(nèi)容和方法ABSTRACTOwingtothelackofsocioculturalknowledgemisunderstandingmayarisealthoughthelanguageusedinco

3、guage.WiththeexpositionoftheintegralrelationshipbetweenlanguageandcultureandobjectivesinEnglishteachingasthetheoreticalbasesthewriterattemptstoproposethegoalscontentandmethodsofteachingculturalknowledgeanddevelopingstudents’culturalcompetence.INTRODUCTIONOnceafifty-year-
4、oldforeignteacherwastellingherstudentswhatshehadseenonherjourneytoChina.Asshementionedthatshefeltalittletiredafterthejourneyoneofthestudentssaidtoherwithgreatconcern:“Youshouldhaveagoodresttoday.Youshouldnotgettootiredatsuchanoldage.”Theforeignteacherwasveryunhappywhensh
5、ehearditandsaid:“Idon’tthinkI’mthatold.Pleasedon’tworryaboutit.”WhywastheteachersounhappyThereasonliesinthedifferentperceptionsoftheconceptofoldageindifferentcultures.IntheWestpeopleassociatetheconceptofoldagewithuselessness.WhileintheEasternculturepeopleusuallyshowtheir
6、respecttotheaged.ItisnowonderthatthesolicitudeexpressedintheChinesewayasshownintheexampleabovehurtthewesternteacher’sfeeling.EventslikethisarefairlycommonwhenChinesestudentscommunicatewiththeEnglish-speakingpeople.Becauseofculturaldifferencesmisunderstandingmayarisealtho
7、ughthelanguagethestudentsuseincommunicationmaybefaultless.ThereforeitisobviousthatthemasteryofaforeignlanguageormorespecificallyhereEnglishisnotjustthatofitsphonologygrammarandlexis.Apartfromlisteningspeakingreadingandwritingcultureinlanguagelearningisanindispensableskil
