2、languageislearnt.Wecanmakebestuseofmothertonguewhilelearningthesecondlanguage,notonlycanwelearnthesecondlanguagewellbutalsonotforgetthemothertongue.Thispaperwhichcarriesonfurtheranalyseandresearchthisinfluenceinthemassiveresearchfoundation,includestheconceptofthemothe

4、ductionInthefieldofSecondLanguageAcquisition,linguistsfoundthatmothertonguehadagreatinfluenceontheacquisitionoftargetlanguage.Veryoften,whenanL2learnerintendstoexpresshimselfinthetargetlanguage,hisL2pronounciationmaysoundunnatural,withaflavorofL1influence.Andthiswould
5、makethelearnersproduceanincorrectsentence.ManyofChinesestudentshavealreadyacquiredsomeChinesebeforetheylearnEnglish,whichmakethemnaturallyusetheknowledgeofmotherlanguagetolearnEnglish.Asaresult,theinfluenceofmotherlanguageintheEnglishlearningisunavoidable.1.Thereasono
6、fcausingtransferTransferwouldnothappenwithoutanycondition.Sodoesthetransferinlanguages.L1isconsideredasakindofinputfromtheinside.Thisinputwilloccurjustundersomeconditions.TherearesomecognitiveconstraintsthatgovernthetransferofL1knowledge.OnesuchconstraintidentifiedbyK
7、ellerman(1983)isasfollows:"Iwantnowtoexamineonefactorthatwillactasaconstraineroratriggeroftransfer."Thisisthelearner’snotionoftherelationsbetweentheL1andL2…ifL1andL2wereverydifferent,thelackofavailablecorrespondenceswould,intheinitialstagesatleast,actasabartotransfer,
