3、WangJianhuiMay2013ABSTRACTSincethepublicationoftheliteraryworksoftheChineseimmigrationbeganin1950s,ChineseAmericanliteraturebecomesasignificantpartofAmericanliterature.ThisthesisselectsKingston‘sTheWomanWarrior,AmyTan‘sTheJoyLuckClubandFaeMyenneNg‘sBoneastheliterarytex
4、tsformystudy.Thesethreeworksnotonlyhaveafar-reachinginfluenceintherealmofChineseAmerican,buthaveawiderecognitionandpraiseinAmericanmainstream.Besides,alloftheseworkshaveobtainedimportantawardsduringthepastyears.However,asthemajorthemeinthethreeworks,mother-daughterrela
5、tionshipistraditionallyconsideredasaconflict-relationsincemothersanddaughtersseparatelyrepresentstraditionalChinesecultureanddominatedAmericanculture.Andmostoftheresearchersmainlyfollowtheclueofmother-daughter‘sconflicttothefinalreconciliation.Thisthesisfocusesontwopro
6、blemsaboutthemother-daughterrelations.Ononehand,thethesisattemptstodeconstructthebinaryoppositionofmotheranddaughterandtheirfinalculturalreconciliation.Itisthedifferentclassestheybelongtothatconstructaninvisiblewallbetweenthem.Ontheotherhand,thethesistriestoexposetheCh
