4、stnotfeelconstrainedbythepastbutmustfollow-uponpromisingpossibilities.Exploringundiscoveredmethodsandpathsrequiresself-criticism,self-assurance,andcourage.Inmyjunioryearincollege,Idoubtedtheteachingstyleofmyinstructorinmyfirstdesignstudioclass.Ifeltasifhepushedhisown
5、rigidideasintothestudents’creationsanddidnotallowthestudentstheopportunitytopursuetheirownoriginaldesigns.Fearingmyintellectualgrowthmightbestuntedbyhislecturesanddissatisfiedwithhisteaching,Ibasicallytaughtmyselfdesignbyresearchingandcombingthroughhundredsofarchitec
6、turebooks.Throughmyownstudies,Icametorealizethatarchitectureshouldbelearned,notpreached.Thatsemester,Ifurtherchallengedmyselfbyworkingonadesignofmyowncreation,adesignnotassignedbymyinstructor.Whileitwouldhavebeeneasiertoaccepttheinstructor’slessonsandjustfollowhiside
