4、78).Thisresearcharoseoutofdissatisfactionwithformalapproaches,thendominantinthedisciplinesoflinguisticsandphilosophy.Whileitsoriginswere,inpart,philosophicalinnature,asisevidentinthelandmark1980publication,MetaphorsweLiveby,byLako?andJohnson,cognitivelinguisticshasalwaysb
5、eenstronglyin?uencedbytheoriesand?ndingsfromtheothercognitivesciencesastheyemergedduringthe1960sand1970s,particularlycognitivepsychology,andmorerecentlybythebrainsciences,especiallytheinterdisciplinaryperspectiveknownascognitiveneuroscience.Inrecentyears,cognitivelinguist
