2、opiterationmethod,i.e.,anequilibriumiterationloopandashapeiterationloop.Fortheinitialshapeanalysisalinearandanonlinearcomputationprocedurearesetup.Intheformerallnonlinearitiesofcable-stayedbridgesaredisregarded,andtheshapeiterationiscarriedoutwithoutcon
3、sideringequilibrium.Inthelatterallnonlinearitiesofthebridgesaretakenintoconsiderationandboththeequilibriumandtheshapeiterationarecarriedout.Basedontheconvergentinitialshapesdeterminedbythedifferentprocedures,thenaturalfrequenciesandvibrationmodesarethen
4、examinedindetails.Numericalresultsshowthataconvergentinitialshapecanbefoundrapidlybythetwo-loopiterationmethod,areasonableinitialshapecanbedeterminedbyusingthelinearcomputationprocedure,andalotofcomputationeffortscanthusbesaved.Thereareonlysmalldifferen
5、cesingeometryandprestressdistributionbetweentheresultsdeterminedbylinearandnonlinearcomputationprocedures.However,fortheanalysisofnaturalfrequencyandvibrationmodes,significantdifferencesinthefundamentalfrequenciesandvibrationmodeswilloccur,andthenonline
6、aritiesofthecable-stayedbridgeresponseappearonlyinthemodesdeterminedonbasisoftheinitialshapefoundbythenonlinearcomputation.2.Nonlinearanalysis2.1.InitialshapeanalysisTheinitialshapeofacable-stayedbridgeprovidesthegeometricconfigurationaswellastheprestre
