4、growthbasedonestimatedbreedingvalues(EBVs),apartfromonegroup(PD)whichwasselectedformusclingbasedmonEBVs.Intotal,595animalswereslaughteredat4,8,14or22monthsofage.ThebirthweightoflambsborntoBLMeweswas0.6kgheavier(P<0.001)thanthoseborntoMerinoewes,andwetherlambswere0.2kgheavie
5、rthanewelambs(P<0.001).Theyearlingweight(YWT)EBVhadnoeffectonbirthweight.Thereweresignificant(P<0.001)differencesbetweengenotypesforpredictedweaningweightat4monthsofage,witharangeof10.6kgamongthegroups.ThePD×BLMweretheheaviest(37.8±0.7kg)andtheMerinothelightest(27.3±0.8kg).
6、Wetherlambswere2.0kgheavierg(P<0.001)thanewelambsatweaning.TheYWTEBVhadnoeffectonweaningweight.Therewasasignificant(P<0.001)interactionbetweentheageatslaughterandgenotypeforfinalliveweightofeachagegroup.ThePD×BLMgweretheheaviestateachageandtheMerinosthelightest,andfortheold
7、estanimals,theBLMweresignificantly(P<0.05)heavierthanPD×M,whereasatyoungeragesthiswasnotthecase.Thesignificantinteraction(P<0.001)mbetweensexandageatslaughterreflectedtheincreasingdifferenceinliveweightbetweenthesexesasageatslaughterincreased.Therewasalsoasignificant(P<0.05
