5、edcells.Subsequently,weidentifiedtheregionsoftheproteinarerequiredtomediatechimericproteinsthatcanfunctionasareceptorforsusceptibilitytoinfectionwithHCV229EandTGEV.HCV229E.TheresultsshowthatreplacementofaIntroductioninthemetabolismofregulatorypeptides(L
6、ooketal.,1989).Thehumancoronavirus(HCV)229EandtheporcineTheinteractionofaviruswithitscellularreceptorisoneofthecoronavirustransmissiblegastroenteritisvirus(TGEV)aremajortargetsofthehostimmuneresponseduringaviruscloselyrelatedandareantigenicallyandgeneti
7、callydistinctinfection.Neutralizingantibodieswhichinterferewithvirus-fromtheso-called'haemagglutinating'coronaviruses,suchasreceptorinteractionareabletoblocktheinfectionprocessinmurinehepatitisvirus(MHV)andbovinecoronavirus(BCV),vitroandinvivo(Dimmock,1
