2、isresearch,118juniorEnglishmajorsinJiayingUniversitywereinvestigated.Theparticipantswereaskedtotakeavocabularytestandcompleteavocabulary-learningquestionnaire.ThedatacollecteddealtwiththroughSPSS(theStatisticalPackageforSocialScience)indicatesthatthereissignificantdifferencesbetwe
3、eneffectiveandlesseffectivelearners.Effectivelearnersusestrategiesmorefrequentlyandflexibly,whilelesseffectivelearnersturnouttoberotelearners.Theyemployrepetitionstrategymoreoftenandtheyrelymoreonmothertongue,Chinese,invocabularylearning.Thustranslationstrategywasextensivelyusedam
4、ongthem.Theresultalsoshowsthatsevenstrategies,namelyapplied,categorization,self-monitoring,cooperation,media,elaborationanddictionarystrategyarepositivelycorrelatedwiththevocabularytestscoresandtheTestforEnglishmajor(Grade4)scores.However,repetitionofnewwordswasthestrongestnegativ
