2、alow-orderfacilitiesmaybeexpensivetobuild,operate,and/orpanelmethodcomputationalfluiddynamics(CFD)maintain.Therangeofmotionsthatcanbeperformedcodetothecalculationofaircraftdynamicstabilityandinsuchfacilitiesmaybelimitedbythewindtunnelcontrol(S&C)derivativesaredocumented.Severalwal
3、lsorbythetestrig’skinematicandvibrationalcapabilities,uniquetoCFDbutnotuniquetothisrestrictions.Inaddition,manyconventionaldynamicparticulardemonstration,areidentifiedandtestfacilitiesdonotprovidethecapabilitytodeterminedemonstratedinthispaper.Theseuniquecapabilitiesdampingandcros
4、sderivativesindividually;instead,complementconventionalS&Ctechniquesandtheythesefacilitiescanonlyprovidemeasurementsof9includetheabilityto:1)performmaneuverswithoutcombinedderivatives.Themeasurementofthesetheflow/kinematicrestrictionsandsupportinterferencequantitiesinpairsisnotthe
5、preferredsituation;itiscommonlyassociatedwithexperimentalS&Csimplyakinematicrealityofthefacilitiesavailable.A10facilities,2)easilysimulateadvancedS&Ctestingcompanionpaperdetailsseveralcomputationaltechniques,3)computeexactS&Cderivativeswithtechniquestoseparatesuchpaireddynamicderi
6、vatives.uncertaintypropagationbounds,and4)altertheflowSomefacilitiesarenotequippedwitha“slipring”physicsassociatedwithaparticulartestingtechniquecapabilityandthus,cannotperformcontinuousrotaryfromthoseobservedinawindorwatertunneltestinmotions;insteadtheyrelyonoscillatorymotionstoo
