4、en-tiation,landtreatmentsystems(LSs)formunicipalwastewaterwerecontinuouslyexploredandupdatedinthewesternShenyangareaandtheHuolinhearea,China.Intensifiedpretreatment,additionofaman-madesoilfiltrationlayer,anduseofanecologicallydiversifiedsecondaryplantcoverwereprovedtobetechnicallyfeasibl
5、e.Hydraulicloadingvca8de_terminedaccordingtotheassimilationcapacityofsoilecosystems,thusensuringsafeoperationofwastewatertreatment.Thismodernizedandalternativeapproachtowastewatertreatmenthadbeenwidelyappliedinmiddle-sizedandsmallcitiesandtownsofNortheastChina,andtheseinnovativesystemsin
