2、nds,andtraditionalcustomsandsoon.Althoughthemeaningsofcolorwordsarerestrainedbycultures,theyrevealwideconnotationofcultures.Duetotherespectiveculturalbackgroundandtradition,people’sfeelingandexpressionstothecolorarenotthesame.Weshouldpayattentiontoobservingnotonlytheirbasicmeaning,b
3、utalsothedeepandbroadsymbolicmeaning.Thesymbolicmeaningsofcolorwordsoftenhavedifferentfeaturesindifferentlanguagecultures.Andsomeofthemevenhavebecometaboosandadornmentssincethemeaningsofthecolorwordsareextendedandtransferred.Meanwhile,theculturalexchangesandthecolorviewshavesimilarp
4、henomenonandcoincidenceinthelanguages.ThispapertriestoillustratethedifferentsymbolicmeaningsofcolorwordsinEnglishandChineseculturesbycontrastingandanalyzingofthem.Keywords:culturaldifferences;symbolicmeanings;contrast摘 要：因民族歷史文化、政治、宗教、習(xí)俗和社會(huì)環(huán)境等因素的影響，英漢文化語(yǔ)言中色彩詞用法各異，顏色觀也有所不同。中英文化在長(zhǎng)期的歷史
5、沉淀中形成了各自獨(dú)特的顏色觀，折射出絢麗多姿的民族文化。文化制約了顏色詞的意義演變，顏色詞的文化意義又折射出了豐富的文化內(nèi)涵。由于各自的文化背景和傳統(tǒng)，人們對(duì)顏色的感覺是不同的。我們不僅要注意觀察它們本身的基本意義，更要留心它們含義深廣的象征意義。象征意義在不同民族語(yǔ)言中往往有不同的特點(diǎn)，有些特點(diǎn)甚至構(gòu)成了人們對(duì)經(jīng)過(guò)引伸、轉(zhuǎn)義以后顏色的崇尚和禁忌。同時(shí)，由于文化趨同性和文化的交流，語(yǔ)言所反映的顏色觀有相似或相疊合的現(xiàn)象。本文就英漢文化以上方面進(jìn)行對(duì)比分析，試圖說(shuō)明英漢文化顏色詞的不同象征意義。關(guān)鍵詞：文化差異;象征意義;對(duì)比第15頁(yè)ContentsI.Intr
