4、ociatedwiththeintroductionofPRCV,across-sectionalstudyof408DanishswineherdswascarriedoutbetweenMay1985andJune1986.Theassociationbetweenherd-PRCVserologicalstatusandpossibleriskfactors,obtainedfromafieldquestionnaire,wasassessedbyunconditionalmaximumlikel
5、ihoodlogisticregression.Anincreasingherdsize,locationintheJutlandpeninsula(comparedwithlocationontheislandofFunen)(OR=7.9inamultivariablelogisticregressionmodelnotincludinginteractionterms),thepresenceofaslurrysystem(i.e.pigslivingonaslattedfloor)(OR=4.6
6、)andpurchaseofpigs(OR=1.7)weresignificantly(P<0.05)associatedwithseropositivity.Twosignificantinteractions,bothinvolv-ingherds#ize,weresubsequentlyidentified.ThePF!CVserologicalstatusofneighbouringherdswasfoundtoberelated,andclosenessofaseropositiveherdw
