2、niversities.In1998,nomorethan580non-localstudents,includingatmost150mainlandChinesestudents,couldbeadmittedtoeightuniversitiesinHK,ission(UGC).These150mainlandstudents,inationandremendationofmainlanduniversities,couldhaveaccesstomoreadvancededucationalresources.Forexample,thereinati
3、onandremendationofmainlanduniversitiesin2000.Inordertoreducetheireconomicpressure,theHongKongJockeyClubthatoneofthelargestcharitableorganizationsinHKsetupa“HongKongJockeyClubOutstandingMainlandStudentsScholarship”projectin1998,aimingtofundthesemainlandstudents.In2001,theadmissionpol
4、iciesoreflexible.ChineseMinistryofEducationremovedtost150mainlandstudentscouldbeenrolledinHK’suniversitieseachyear,thesecondoneitedmainlandstudentsamongthose150onescouldbenefitfromthe“HongKongJockeyClubOutstandingMainlandStudentsScholarship”project.Besides,ChineseMinistryofEducation
5、andtheGovernmentoftheHongKongSpecialAdministrativeRegionbothpermittedthesestudentstoworkandliveinHKaftergraduationiftheywouldlike.I-->n2002,thefirstnearly150mainlandstudentsgottheirbachelordegreesinHK’suniversities,andasurveyshoPolyU,8of23onesgraduatedfromCUHKandatleast3onesgraduate
6、dfromCityUdecidedtoanyexcellenthighschoolgraduates,includingtopscorersinthecollegeentranceexamination,choosingtostudyinHK’suniversitiesandgivinguptheadmissionofthemainlandfamousuniversities.oreattentionfrommainlandstudentsandtheirparents,foritsinternationalization,developedeconomy,d
