3、highmorbidity.Itiscategorizedinto3subgroupsandgenerallyistreatedwithrespectiveagents.However,ChinesespecialistsinAltemativeMedicine.mainlyinTraditionalChineseMedicine(TCM)一havebeenresearchingitsdiagnosis.therapeuticsandmechanismsandhavegotremarkableachievementsforth
4、eseyears.Inthoseachievements,FDhasbeenconsideredtoreferto2TCMdisorders('stut-fyandfullsensation'and'stomachpain')anddifferentiatedinto5syndromes:(1)liverdepressionandQistagnationsyndrome,(2)liverdepressionandspleenastheniasyndrome,(3)spleenastheniaaccompanyingphlegm
5、anddampnesssyndrome,(4)accumulationandstagnationofindigestivefoodsyndrome,and(5)co—existenceofcoldandheatsyndrome.Besides,researchershavestudiedtherelationshipsamongthosesyndromesandbetweentheChinesemedicalsyndromesandsomephysiologicalandbiochemicalvariations.Clinic
6、ally,ChinaAssociationofChineseMedicinehasestablishedtheDiagnosticandTherapeuticCriteriaofTCMforFunctionalDyspepsiaandthetherapistshavebeenevaluatingtheeffectoftreatingFDwithChineseherbalmedicine,acupunctureandmassage.Researchershavealsobeenstudyingthemechanismsoftho
7、setherapiesandhavemadesomeencouragingprogress.ItcanbeconcludedthatthosetherapieshaveasignificanteffectiverateintreatingFD,althoughwithoutenoughevidence—basedclinicalandexperimentaldesigns.Anddespitebeingindependentofmodernscience,thetraditionaltheoriesshowsomerelati
