5、berofzincatomsavailableforexchangewithcopper.Previousstudiesinvestigatingtheeffectofironcontentinsphaleriteoncopperactivation,collectoradsorptionandsubsequentsphaleriteflotationhaveproducedconflictingresults(Pomianowskietal.,1975,MukherjeeandSen,1976,Soleckietal.,1979,Nakahiro,198
6、0,HarrisandRichter,1985andGigowskietal.,1991).Forexample,bothanincreaseanddecreaseincopperactivation,collectoradsorptionandfrothflotationofsphaleritehavebeenreportedwithincreasingironcontentinsphalerite.Thelossofsphaleritetotailingsinflotationcircuitsasaresultofinadequateparticles
7、urfacehydrophobicityreducestheeconomicviabilityoftheprocessingoperation.Thusanunderstandingoftheeffectthatironinsphaleritehasontheflotationbehaviourofthismineralmayallowustomaximisesphaleriterecovery.Inthepresentstudy,wehaveinvestigatedtheeffectofironcontentinsphaleriteonsphalerit
