1、OnCross-culturalEducationinEnglishLanguageTeachingAbstract:Nowadays,Englishhasbecomeauniversallanguagewhichisplayinganimportantpartininternationalcommunicationandcooperation.Duetothedifferentvalue,religion,customandhistoryofeachcountry,aforeignlanguagelearnerstudyingalanguagemeansthestudy
2、ofaculture.Cultureisapartoflanguageandplaysaveryimportantroleinlanguageteaching.Inrecentyears,therelationshipbetweenlanguageandculturehasbecomeakeysubjectinteachingEnglishasaforeignlanguage.Englishteachersshouldnotonlyteachlanguageknowledge,butalsocultureswhichlanguageloads.sotheunderstan
3、dingofanewlanguagerequirestheunderstandingoftheotherculture.However,formanyyears,themainworkofEnglishteachinghasbeenfocusedonlanguageteaching.Teachersandstudentsdoalotingrammer,phrases,structureandmeanings.Hence,thistraditionalgrammar-translationmethodfailedtodevelopcommunicativecompetenc
4、e.withtheneglectofthecross-culturalawarenessandunreasonabletrainingmethod,thestudentsoftenhaveapoorunderstandingofcrossculturaldifferencesinareas,suchasthewordmeaningandthecustomabroad,whichcaneventuallyleadtoignoranceofEnglishlanguagebackground.Learningalanguage,asamatteroffact,isinsepar
5、ablefromlearningitscultures.Therefore,languageteachingandinterculturalawarenessisindispensable.EnglishteachersshouldinputthecultureofEnglish-speakingcountriesgraduallyandappropriatelyinTEFL.Tocultivatethecross-cuturalawarenessinstudentsisabetterwayforthemtomasterandusethelanguage.So,thede
