3、nergydevelopmentandcarriedoutsomedemonstrationprojectsalongwithcertainpreferablepoliciesspecificallyforwindpowerdevelopment.GreatsignificanceofwindpowerdevelopmentinChinaEnergyistheimportantfoundationfornationaleconomicdevelopmentBeingabigenergyproduct!onandcon
4、sumptioncountry,inlinewithaccelerationofeconomicconstruction,energysupplyprobleminChinahasbecomemoreandmoreprominentinrecenttwoyears.In2003,thetotalenergyconsumptioninChinaamountedto1.68billiontonsofcoalequivalent,itwas13%higherthanthatin2002.1ntheenergymix,coa
5、laccountedfor67丄%,o\accountedfor22.7%,naturalgasaccountedfor2.8%andhydro?electricityaccountedfor7.3%/whileoilimportreached97milliontons.Asforpercapitaenergyresources,coal,oilandnaturalgasinChinaonlyreach70%,10%and5%ofworldaveragelevelrespective!y.Underthisener
6、gybackground,fromlong-termpointofview,theinsufficiencyofenergyresourcesenergyresourceswillbecomeimportantshacklesoneconomicdevelopment.Moreover,energyconsumptionreliesexcessivelyoncoalinChina,theshareofcoalinenergyconsumptionmixin2003hadevenincreasedonepercenta
7、gepointoverthatin2002.Particularlyinpowersector,nearly75%ofpowerinstalledcapacityareofcoal-firedthermalpower,ChinahasnowbecomethelargestSO2emissioncountry,ofwhich90%werecausedbycoal-burning,and70%offluedustinatmospherealsocausedbycoal-burningtheconsequencesofco
