4、esultingfromdemographictransitiontothestationarypopulationgrowthrate.Yet,populationinertiacanbeproducedbyanydemographicperturbation(i.e.,notjustperturbationsthatproducestationarygrowth).Insightintoappliedpopulationdynamics,populationecology,andlifehistoryevolutionhasbeenga
5、inedusingperturbationanalysisofthepopulationgrowthrate.However,asimilar,generalizedframeworkforperturbationanalysisofpopulationinertiahasnotbeendeveloped.Wederivegeneralformulasforthesensitivityofpopulationinertiatochangeinanyvitalrateorinitialpopulationstructure.Theseform
