2、ofessionalsandparentsalike.Medicationwithmethylphenidatehastosomeextentprovensuccessful,butitisstillnotknownexactlywhatpartsofthede?citsinADHDmedicationin?uences.ItisthusimportanttofurtherdelineatethenatureofADHDandthoroughlyinvestigatethepossiblesubtypes.Inthispaperwedescr
3、ibesomeexperimentsinvestigatingthenatureofin-hibition,resourceallocation,sustainedandselectiveattention,distractibilityandtaskswitchingamongchildrenwithADHD.Theconclusionscouldbeusedtoadvocatefordi?erentmodelsofADHD,e.g.,amodelofde?cientresponseinhibitionoramodelofnon-optim
4、alresourceallocation.Belowwepresentour?rststepstowardarobotmodelofADHD.Thecom-putationalmodelcanreproducesomeofthebehaviorsshowninchildrenwithADHDinexperimentalsituations.Themodelsuggeststhatade?ciencyinahypothesisedcontextsystemcanexplainsomeofthesuper?ciallydisconnectedpr
5、oblemsinADHD.Thecomputerimplementationisa?rststeptowardarobotsystemthatwillmodelawiderrangeofbehaviorsinADHDandpotentiallyotherrelateddisorders.2DiagnosisADHDisacognitiveandbehavioraldisorderwithinthreeareas:inattention,hyperactivity,andimpulsivity.TobediagnosedashavingADHD
