3、ydisease(CIRD).Tonsillarswabsandserumwereobtainedfromdogsonentryintothekennelsandinregularintervalsthereafter.AdditionalsampleswerecollectedduringoutbreaksofCIRD.TheswabswereexaminedbyviruscultureandPCRforcanineparain?uenzavirus,canineadeno-virus,canineherpesvirus(CHV)andcaninerespirat
4、orycoronavirus(CRCoV).FurthermoretheprevalenceofantibodiestoCHVandCRCoVwasdetermined.DuringthisstudyCIRDwasreportedmainlyinoneofthetwokennelsinvestigated.InthatkennelantibodyresponsestoCRCoVindicatedaseasonaloccurrenceofthevirus,whichcoincidedwithtwooutbreaksofrespiratorydisease.CHVant
5、ibodyresponsesweredetectedthroughouttheyear.Intheotherkennel,whichreportedfewcasesofCIRDahighprevalenceofantibodiestoCRCoVwasdetectedonentrybutonlysporadicseroconversionstoCRCoVorCHV.ByPCRthreedogswerefoundpositiveforCRCoVinonekennelwhereasallPCRtestsforotherviruseswerenegativeforbothk
6、ennels.Virusculturefailedtodetectanyvirusesineitherkennel.IntroductionCanineinfectiousrespiratorydisease(CIRD)orkennelcoughisadiseasecomplex,whichoccursfrequentlyindenselyhouseddogpopulationsespeciallyafternewdogshavebeenintroduced.[1].Theproblemiswellknowninrehomingandboardingkennelsh
7、oweveritisalsoanimportantdiseaseofworkingdogsbecauseitdisruptstheirtrainingandcanevenresultintemporaryclosureof1494K.ErlesandJ.Brownliekennels.ManyfactorscontributetotheaetiologyofCIRDincludingvirusesandbacteriaaswellasstressduetomixingandhousinginanunfamiliarenvironment.Vaccinesarea
