4、act,we’reencouragedtomakethemostofthelibrariesandtechnicalsupportservicesonthecampus.Weallliveoncampus,astheschoolrulessaythatnofreshmenshouldliveoffcampusduringtheweekdays,unlesstheuniversityauthoritiesgivepermission.Weprefertoeatinschoolcafeteriasbecausethereisavarietyoffoodso
5、nthemenu,whichchangeseveryday.Besides,thefoodserviceismuchbetterthanthatofmostsecondaryschools.Foronething,ourcampuscafeteriasareunderthemanagementofaprofessionalfoodservicecompanywithanannually-renewablecontract.BeinganEnglishmajor,wehavetospeakEnglishwithourfellowstudentsandEn
6、glishteachersmostofthetime.WeareexpectedtospeakEnglishwithallourEnglishteacherswhatevercoursestheyteach.We’realsoencouragedtospeakEnglishinthedormareaasmuchaspossible.Wearenotquiteusedtothis“Englishonly”environment,though.Anyway,we’realltryingveryhard.Italwaystakesustimetoadjust
7、toanewenvironment.WearegivenEnglishlecturesandtalkswhichcoveravarietyoftopics.Weareencouragedtoattendthefreediscussionsessionfollowingeachlectureorpresentation.Mostofthelecturesaregivenbynative-speakers,soatthebeginningIhavemuchdifficultyinfiguringoutmuchofwhattheysay.ButIknowth
