3、tingvirtualnetworksubstituteswithwhichpeople,or-ganisationsandsoftwareagentscanderivetrustinotherpartiesrequirescomputerisedanalysisoftheunderlyingtrustnetworks.Thisarticledescribesanapproachtotrustnetworkanalysisusingsubjectivelogic(TNA-SL),thatconsistsofthethreefollowingelements.
4、Firstlyitusesaconcisenotationwithwhichtrusttransitivityandparallelcombinationoftrustpathscanbeexpressed.Secondlyitdenesamethodforsimplifyingcomplextrustnetworkssothattheycanbeexpressedinthisconciseform.Finallyitallowstrustmeasurestobeexpressedasbeliefs,sothatderivedtrustcanbeautom
5、aticallyandsecurelycomputedwithsubjectivelogic.WecompareourapproachwithtrustderivationalgorithmsthatarebasedonnormalisationsuchasPageRankandEigenTrust.WealsoprovideanumericalexampletoillustrateshowTNA-SLcanbeapplied.IndexTermsTrust,transitivity,networks,reputation,subjectivelogic,b
6、elief,DSPG,TNA-SL,P2P,PageRank,EigenTrust.I.INTRODUCTIONModerncommunicationmediaareincreasinglyremovingusfromfamiliarstylesofinteractingandconductingbusinessinwaysthattraditionallyrelyonsomedegreeofpre-establishedtrustbetweenbusinesspartners.Moreover,mosttraditionalcuesforassessing
7、trustinthephysicalworldarenotavailablethroughthosemedia.Wemaynowbeconductingbusinesswithpeopleandorganisationsofwhichweknownothing,andwearefacedwiththedifculttaskofmakingdecisionsinvolvingriskinsuchsituations.Asaresult,thetopicoftrustinopencomputernetworksisreceivingconsiderableat
