3、nstudiesatonshoresites.Withrespecttowindenergyimplementationespeciallyoffshore,moreinformationabouttheenvironmentalimpactisneeded.Severalcountriescarryingoutenvironmentalbaselinestudiesfocusesonoffshorewindfarmsites.Monitoringwildlifeisverylabourintensi
4、ve.That'swhyECNdevelopsacomputerbasedefficientenvironmentalmonitoringtool.TheaimistodemonstratetheproperoperationofthebirdcollisionregistrationsystemthathasbeendevelopedbyECN.Thesystemmustberelativelyinexpensive,robustandapplicableforoffshoreconditions.
5、Thesystemidentifiesbirdimpactsbynoisemeasurementsandacameraidentifiesthespecificspecies.Thesystemcanalsodistinguishbetweenturbinespecificsoundsandacollisionofabirdagainsttower,nacelleandrotor.TheECNbirdcollisionregistrationsystemisproventobeaverypromisi
6、ngwaytodetectandrecordbirdcollisionsagainstwindturbines.Thefirstexperimentalresultsaregood.Thiswayofdetectingthecollisionsofbirdscanbeveryusefulforthefutureimplementationofoffshorewindfarms.1–DutchoffshorewindenergyplansandtheenvironmentIntheNetherlands
7、theDutchgovernmenthassetaveryambitioustargetforoffshorewindenergyof6000megawattin2020.Environmentalimpactofwindenergyplaysanimportantroleinthepublicacceptancethatalsoinfluencesthedecision-makingprocesses.Sincetheintroductionofwindenergy,thereisaconcernt
8、hatturbineswouldcauseharmtobirds.Alotofstudiesaboutnuisancetobirdsfromwindturbinesonshoreareexecutedinthelastdecade.Stillmanyquestionsareleftrelatedtothedevelopmentofwindenergyoffshore.Inmostcountries,wildlifeprotectionorganisati
