2、efirmconsistsofseveralworkandprojectteamsthatmustcooperateandshareresourcesifaqualityjobistobeproducedwithinbudget.Teambuildingisanorganizationaldevelopmentinterventionstrategythatinvestigatesthepersonalitiesandbehaviorcharacteristicsoftheteammembership.Teambuildingcon
3、sistsofaseriesofexercisesthatcollectdataandfeedback.Thisservesasinputintoproposedimprovementsforthecompany'sprocess-bothatanindividualandteamlevel.Itisapowerfultool,butisnotalwayspractical.Thedocumentinvestigatesthecycleofteambuildingandprovidesaquantityoftoolsthatwoul
4、dbeusefulintheteambuildingprocess.Thesetoolscollectdatathatcanprovidethesourceofconflicts.TeamsinToday'sWorkplaceAteamisdefinedasacollectionofpeoplewhorelyongroupcollaborationsuchthateachofitsmembersexperiencesanoptimumofsuccesslevelreachingofofbothpersonalandteambased
5、goals(Dyer,1977).Supposeonewastotakealookatatypicalbusinessoperation-arestaurant,golfcourse,homebuilder,oilpatch,orsoftwarefirm.Wewillnotethatthisbusinessoperation(assumingitisnotahomebasedbusiness)consistsofofstaffmemberswhoworktogethertoprovideaservice.Eachmemberofth
6、estaffstrivestowardsmeetingpersonalandcompanygoals.Inteamwork,everybodymakestheirowncontributionsandperformstheirtasks.Thestaffmembersalsointeractandcommunicatewitheachother.Therefore,theconceptofteamgoesbeyondprofessionalsports.Theyexisteverywhereinsociety.Atwork,ther
7、emaybeseveraldifferentworkgroups(requirements,qualityassurance,testing).Eachoneisateam.Projectteamsconsistof12peoplefromdifferentgroupsbroughttogetherforaspecificactivity.Aworkermaybeamemberofmorethanoneteamatwork.Eventhefamilyisconsideredateam(Dyer,1977).Teamdynamicsr
