1、MILITARYSPECIFICATIONANODICCOATINGSFORALUMINUMANDALUMINUMALLOYSThisspecificationisapprovedforusebyallDepartmentsandAgenciesoftheDepartmentofDefense.1.SCOPE1.1Scope.Thisspecificationcoverstherequirementsforsixtypesandtwoclassesofelectrolyticallyformedanodiccoatingsonaluminumandaluminumalloys
2、fornon-architecturalapplications(see6.1).~1.2Classification.TheanodiccoatingTypesandClassescoveredbythisspecificationareasspecifiedherein(see6.2and6.21):1.2.1TypesTYPEI--Chromicacidanodizing,conventionalcoatingsproducedfromchromicacidbath(see3.4.1)TYPEII--Sulfuricacidanodizing,conventionalc
3、oatingsproducedfromsulfuricacidbath(see3.4.2)3.4.1TypeI,IB,andICcoatinqs.TypeIandIBcoatingsshallbetheresultoftreatingaluminumandaluminumalloyselectrolyticallyinabathcontainingchromicacidtoproduceauniformanodiccoatingonthemetalsurface.TypeICcoatingsshallbetheresultoftreatingaluminumandalumin
4、umalloyselectrolyticallyinabathcontainingmineralormixedmineral/organicacids(non-chromicacid)toproduceauniformanodiccoatingonthemetalsurface.Unlessotherwisespecifiedin”thecontract,purchaseorderorapplicabledrawing,TypeIcoatingsshallnotbeappliedtoaluminumalloyswithanominalcoppercontentinexcess
5、of5.0percent;nominalsiliconcontentsinexcessof7.0percent;orwhenthetotalallowablecontentsofnominalalloyingelementsexceed7.5percent.HeattreatablealloyswhicharetoreceiveaTypeI,IB,orICcoatingshallbeintherequiredtemperobtainedbyheattreatment,suchas-T4,-T6,orT73,priortoanodizing.3.4.2TypeIIand116c
6、oatlnqs.TypeIIand116coatingsshallbetheresultoftreatingaluminumandaluminumalloyselectrolyticallyinabathcontainingsulfuricacidtoproduceauniform-anodiccoatingon-themetalsurface.Heattreatablealloysshallbeintherequiredtemperobtainedbyheattreatment,suchas-T4,-T6,orT73,priortoanodizing.Class1-Non-
