3、AbstractVerbalirony,asawidelyusedfigureofspeech,hasreceivedconsiderableattentionfromcognitivepsychologistsandlinguists.Thetraditionalstudyofverbalironyfromrhetoricalandaestheticalapproacheshasbeenshiftedtocurrentcognitiveandpragmaticinvestigation.Inthispaper,focuswillbelaiduponthehumorfea
4、tureofverbalironyfromtheperspectiveofpragmatics.First,throughthecomparisonofdifferentkindsofdefinitionsofirony,ageneralideaaboutwhatisironyisestablished.Then,thispaperexaminestheCooperativePrinciple(CPforshort)ofAmericanlinguistGricewhichputforwardsthatironyactsasaviolationofCP.Finally,wi
5、ththeanalysisofthepragmaticfunctionsofirony,thehumorfeatureofverbalironycanbewelldisplayed.Ironycanbeclassifiedintosixtypesfromtheperspectiveofpragmaticfunctionsasfollows:ironyfordiscontent,ironyforsatire,ironyforpolite,ironyforaffection,ironyforemphasisandironyforhumor.Thispapermakesasum
6、marythatthehumorfeatureofironyisitsbasicfeature,alsowellreflectedinthepragmaticfunctions.Keywords:verbalirony;pragmaticfunction;humor16內(nèi)容摘要反語作為一種普遍使用的修辭格，引起了認(rèn)知心理學(xué)家和語言學(xué)家的關(guān)注。反語研究的角度從傳統(tǒng)的修辭學(xué)和美學(xué)轉(zhuǎn)向了認(rèn)知心理學(xué)和語用學(xué)的探究。本文首先從不同的定義和分類上，對反語進(jìn)行認(rèn)知層面上的歸納總結(jié)，我們可以初步了解什么是反語。其次，基于對美國語言學(xué)家格賴斯合作原則的分析，了解反語與合作原則的聯(lián)系，反語違
7、反合作原則主要體現(xiàn)在對質(zhì)量準(zhǔn)則的違反上。此外，反語是言語幽默的一種表現(xiàn)形式。從語用學(xué)的角度可以把反語的功能分成六種類型，表達(dá)不滿的功能、諷刺的功能、禮貌的功能、親熱的功能、強調(diào)功能、幽默功能，文中對其進(jìn)行歸納總結(jié)，從而得知，反語的幽默屬性是其基本屬性，在其語用功能中也得到了很好的體現(xiàn)。關(guān)鍵詞：反語；語用功能；幽默16Introduction1.1IntroductiontoironyIronyisauniversalphenomenonofnaturallanguagesusedinourdailycommunication.
