3、microbialmetaboliteswereisolatedfromactinomyceteshabitat.Outoftotal110actinomycetesisolatedfromrhizo-(Monchevaetal.2002).Mostcommonantibioticproducingsphericandnon-rhizosphericsoilofIndoGangeticPlainssoilmicroorganismsbelongtothegenusStreptomyces;(IGP)ofIn

4、dia,9isolatesexhibitedaggressiveantagonismabouttwo-third([4,000)ofnaturallyoccurringantibiotics,againstRhizoctoniasolani,screenedthroughdualculture,suchasaminoglycoside,anthracyclines,chloramphenicol,welldiffusionandsealedplatetechnique.Maximumgrowthb-lact

5、ams,macrolides,andtetracyclines,amongothers,hasinhibitionwasrecordedupto50%underwelldiffusion(S.beendiscoveredfromStreptomycesstrains(Goodfellowtoxytricinivh22)and52.6%inadirectconfrontation(Acti-etal.1988).Theproductionoflargenumberofantimicrobialnomyceta
