5、y,asdirectoroftheprogram,toperiodicallyreviewtheteachingeffectivenessoftheinstructorsteachingthoseclasses.Oneday,ataboutthemidpointinasemester,IobservedaclasstaughtbyDebbie(apseudonym).Theclassconsistedof20studentsmostlyfromtheMiddleEastandSoutheastAsia.Debbiehadputtoge

6、theracoursepackofreadingsunderthetheme“AmericanHeroes.”ItconsistedofselectedtextsaboutoutstandingU.S.politicians,scientists,artists,andthelike.Thereadings,Ithought,werewellchosenandwellorganized.Onthedayofmyobservation,Debbiechosetouseatextcalled“MissiontotheMoon.”Shest
