6、butdonotspeakacommonlanguage,escortinterpretingwouldoccur.Moreover,theincreasinglyflourishingtourismindustryofChina,inwhichescortinterpretingismostoftenconducted,hasraisedagreaterdemandforescortinterpreters.TheWorldExpo2010inShanghaiwillcertainlyrequiremorequalifiedescortinte
7、rpreters.Thoughimportantasaprofession,verylittleattentionhasbeengiventoescortinterpreting.Scholarsseemtooverlookthefactthatescortinterpretinghasamuchlargernumberofaudiences,andhenceitplaysasignificantroleincross-culturalcommunication.Inordertofurtherthestudyofescortinterpreti
