2、stomerbaseswithproductsandservicesofdiversedepthsandwidths,attemptingtopartakeofthegiganticcakeofwealth.Asthemarketmatures,customersgrowmorefinanciallyaware,andtheirneedsbecomeincreasinglydiverse,theprivatebankingindustryisconfrontedwithmultiplyingproblems.Theresearchconduct
3、sacasestudyontheprivatebankingsectorofChinaMerchantsBank(hereafterreferredtoasCBM),abellwetheroftheindustry,looksintothestatusquoandinsufficienciesofitsdevelopment,andidentifiesinnovationsinitsdevelopmentmode?Itishopedthatthefindingswillcastalightonthedevelopmentoftheprivate
4、bankingbusinessesofChina-ownedbanks.Inthisthesis,wefirstlydescribetheconceptofprivatebank,itstargetedcustomersaswellasitsproductsandservices,customerdemandtheoryandinnovationtheory.Secondlyweexaminethestatusquo,characteristicsandsuccessfactorsofthreerepresentativeprivatebank
5、s,i.e.UBS(UnitedBankofSwitzerland),CitibankandHSBC(HongKongShanghaiBankingCorporation).Thirdly,focusingonitsorganizationmode,servicemodeaswellasprofitmodel,wcattemptadetailedanalysisofthemode,statusquoandproblemsofthedevelopmentofCBM,sprivatebankingbusiness.Withreferencetoth
