1、OnFunctionandApplicationofEnglishEuphemisminCommunication摘要委婉語是人類語言中的一種普遍現(xiàn)象，它在人們的日常社交活動中使用得十分廣泛，是語言使用中人們協(xié)調(diào)人際關(guān)系的重要手段。使用委婉語有利于提高交際效果和保持和諧的人際關(guān)系。在人類文明日益發(fā)展和人際交往不斷擴大的今天，委婉語更是發(fā)揮著其不可或缺的作用。HughRawson(1981)也曾斷言“委婉如此深植于我們的語言中，以至于很少有人能一天離得開它，就連那些以說話平鋪直敘而自居的人也不例外?！蓖瑯?，委婉語也
2、引起了語言學(xué)界的極大興趣。多年來，語言學(xué)者們分別從不同角度對這一語言現(xiàn)象進行分析研究。同時，它獨特的語用功能也成為當(dāng)前社會語用學(xué)研究的重要課題。本文通過借鑒前人的研究成果，從語言學(xué)的角度來分析，探討委婉語的產(chǎn)生，分類，構(gòu)成，委婉語的使用對語言系統(tǒng)與交際的影響，委婉語在人際會話中的功能和應(yīng)用。本文旨在通過對委婉語產(chǎn)生動因和社會功能意義的分析，為言語交際和社會交流服務(wù)，從而認(rèn)清在人際交往中委婉語使用的重要意義，以減少交際失誤，避免人際沖突，改善人際關(guān)系。[關(guān)鍵詞]委婉語；人際會話；功能；應(yīng)用14AbstractEup
