3、atraditionandtrendintherealmofnewsresearch,whichisbecausenewsheadlineisplayingauniqueroleinthewholearticle(Reah,D.2002:13-19).Now,researchesonnewsheadlinesabroadandathomehavemadecontinuousachievementsinvariousaspects.Foralongtime,thediscussionofnewshasbeenthecentralpartofmassmedi
4、astudy,whichhaspenetratedintothestudyofmasscommunication.Inmasscommunication,therearethreebasicelements:thesenderexpressesandeditsamessagebythemeansofmedia;mediumisthedeviceofpassingtheinformationthroughtimeandspace;andthereceiveristheindividualtowhomthemessageisdirected(Bell.A.1
5、991:78).Accordingtothesetheoreticalbasics,newsheadlinesaretheessenceofmessagethatthesenderwantstotellthereaders.Fromthispoint,thespecialimportanceofnewsheadlinesisobvioustobeseen.ThebestandmostcomprehensiveworkisaccountedtoVanDijk’sNewsanalysis.Inthisbook,VanDijkanalyzedover400mi
