3、nicalpreparednessforpandemicswithahighlypathogenicvirus.Theaimofthisstudywastoidentifyawareness,attitudes,andpracticesrelatedtoMERS-CoVamongthepublicinSaudiArabia.Across-sectionalstudyof1147adultsubjectsrecruitedfromvariousshoppingmallsinRiyadhwasconducted.Allthesubjectswereinterviewedusinga
4、questionnairethattestedtheirknowledge,attitudes,anduseofprecautionarymeasuresinrelationtotheMERS-CoVpandemic.Themajorityoftheparticipantsshowedhighlevelsofconcernandhadutilizedprecautionarymeasures.Afteradjustingforothervariables,genderwastheonlysigni?cantpredictorofthelevelofconcern(P<.001)
5、,whileknowledgewasthesigni?cantpredictorofboththelevelofconcernandprecaution(P<.001).Highconcerntranslatedintoahighercompliancewithprecautionaryrecommendations.Frequentcommunicationbetweenhealthcareprovidersandthepublicisrecommendedtohelpdispelmythsaboutthediseaseandtoempowerthepublicwiththe
