3、avirus,sialodacryodenititisvirus.Antibodytitersinassaysusinghorseradishperoxidase(HRP)-conjugatedorureiase-conjugatedanti-mouseIgGweresubstan-tiallyhigherthaninanindirectimmunofluorescenceassay.Theureiaseassaywassomewhatmoresen-sitivethantheHRPassay.MHV-JHMantigenwasstableunderavarietyofstoragecondi

5、severalmonthspriortotesting(Parkeretal.,1966).Despitereportsofmoresensitiveserologicaltests,itwasseveralyearsbeforethesemeth-odsweregenerallyusedinrodentvirusserologylaboratories.Boththeconven-tionalenzyme-linkedimmunosorbentassay(ELISA)andindirectimunofluoresc-ence(IFA)testwereshowntobesignificantl
6、ymoresensitivethantheCFtestfordetectionofantibodytoMHV(Petersetal.,1979;Boormanetal.,1982;Smith,1983).AcommerciallyavailableELISAkitwassomewhatlesssensitivethanIFAfordetectionofMHVantibodyinseraofexperimentallyinfectedmice(Smith,1983).ThecloseantigenicrelationshipbetweenMHVandthesialodacryodenitis(S
